- Cocoabean Company – From 14th October the Cocoabean’s Pumpkin Patch opens for another year of family fun which includes pumpkin picking, farmyard games and photo opportunities.
- Ernespie Farm – From 11th October to 31st October enjoy a day fun day out at Ernespie Farms outdoor play area along with visiting the pumpkin patch to pick and carve your perfect spooky pumpkin.
- Drumlanrig – From 11th to 26th October visit Drumlanrig Castle and join the Drumlanrig Detectives to crack the clues and uncover the secrets of their spooky trail. Once you’ve completed the trail, the little detectives can grab a mini wheelbarrow and pick their perfect pumpkin.
History & Culture
- The Book Town of Wigtown – If you are visiting the area in early autumn make sure you venture over to Wigtown and enjoy the seasonal Book Festival
- Threave Garden & Nature Reserve – Home of the School of Heritage Gardening since 1960, Threave is a garden for all seasons. Discover the unique gardens, enjoy the stunning views and join a guided walk around Scotland’s only Bat Reserve!

- Crafty Distillery – Just down the road from Conifers, this award-winning distillery is home to the famous Hills & Harbour Gin. Take a tour to learn how it’s made and sample a few tasters. A perfect autumn outing for gin lovers.
- The Riverbank – A charming riverside café serving fresh, locally sourced dishes, tempting home bakes, and warm drinks. Open until 4pm, this café is perfect for brunch or and afternoon treat after your woodland walk.
- The Crown Hotel – A traditional inn in the heart of Newton Stewart, offering classic pub favourites, a cosy atmosphere, and a warm Scottish welcome. Ideal for lunch, dinner, or a relaxed evening pint.

- Cairnie Fruit Farm – Famous for its giant pumpkin patch, maize maze, and autumn family events. Be sure to book in advance to secure your spot.

- St Andrews Aquarium – Perfect for a rainy day by the coast, St Andrews Aquarium showcases over 120 species from penguins to tropical fish to meerkats.

- Falkland Palace – Mix in a visit to Falkland Palace after exploring Falkland Estate and step back into Renaissance Scotland at this stunning royal residence.
- St Andrews – Explore historic ruins, the university, and the famous Old Course golf course in the less crowded conditions summer brings. - Farm Shops – Close by you can visit Peel Farm Shop who sell local meat, eggs, preserves, cheeses and chocolate, and further afield you will find Mill of Inverarity Farm Honesty Shop selling free range eggs, Artisana decadent brownies and a range of local seasonal produce.
