The richly researched, stimulating and sensitive Culloden Visitor Centre, which stands beside the battlefield, features artefacts from both sides of the battle and interactive displays that reveal the background to the conflict.
Cawdor Castle dates from the late 14th century, built as a private fortress by the Thanes of Cawdor. An ancient medieval tower built around the legendary holly tree.
Glen Affric is one of the most beautiful places in Scotland. It’s a classic landscape of perfectly-placed lochs, mountains and a wonderful mix of pine, birch and oak trees.
The most popular place to see dolphins is probably a good indicator of the best place to see them! That’s Chanonry Point between Fortrose and Rosemarkie on the Black Isle.
Will you spot Nessie? We’re a 15 minute drive from the world famous Loch Ness, the deepest fresh-water loch in Scotland and home to the legendary ‘Nessie’. Enjoy the grandeur of its mountain setting from the many roadside viewpoints or take a cruise.

The historic town of Beauly is 8 miles away and has a good variety of independent shops including a butcher, a baker, a delicatessen and a greengrocer as well as numerous gift shops and galleries. There are also two small supermarkets: a Co-op on the left hand side as you drive into the town and a Scotmid on the right hand side in the town square.
The Eastgate Centre in Inverness is a covered mall with a variety of chain stores and specialist shops
