Upcoming Scottish Festivals

Friday, August 18, 2017

Scotland is a bustling country with many festivals and events running throughout the year, we’ve put together a list of some that are close to our 6 locations throughout Scotland…

1.Edinburgh Fringe

There is still time to visit Edinburgh and explore the annual Fringe Festival which runs until the 28th August.  Edinburgh is around an hour’s drive from Balmeadowside or you could also catch a train from Cupar.  The fringe is the world’s largest arts festival and is in its 70th year with people coming from all over the world to perform.  We’d also recommend The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo staged on the Esplanade of Edinburgh Castle.

2. Beer & Musical Festival

Held at the House O’ Hill Hotel and only 18 minutes from Conifers (free bus to/from Newton Stewart) this beer and music festival offers a hog roast, bbq, ales, cider and a new speciality gin selection.  This event runs from Friday 8th September to Sunday 10th September.

3. Wee G&T Festival

Who doesn’t love a wee gin and tonic?! With over 50 different gins to taste, expert knowledge on hand from some of Perthshire and wider Scotland's favourite distillers, tasters galore, workshops and fabulous gin inspired recipes and cocktails this is an event for gin lovers one and all.  The Wee G&T Festival will be held on 16th September in The Salutation Hotel in Perth, 25 minutes from Rossie Ochil Estate and around 50 minutes from Drumfork Estate.

This  beer  festival  will  feature  live  bands  and  some great  authentic  German  food,  as  well  as  the  real star  of  the  show  -  many  different  Real  Ales  (some local),  Ciders  and  Continental  Biers.  Dundee is around 20 minutes from Balmeadowside and 15 minutes from Vicarsford Farmhouse.

Founded in 1999, the 10-day Wigtown Book Festival is now one of the UK's best-loved literary events and this year has more than 200 events and activities for all ages, including music, theatre, food and visual arts.
